Per North Carolina General Statute (G.S. 130A-152(a)), all students entering 7 th grade or who
have reached age 12, whichever comes first, are required to receive a booster dose of Tdap
(tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis vaccine) and the meningococcal conjugate vaccine (MCV). All
students entering 12 th grade or who have reached age 17 are required to receive a booster of the
meningococcal conjugate vaccine (MCV). Parents have 30 calendar days from their student’s
first day of attendance during the 2023-2024 school year to provide proof of the required
immunizations. At the end of the 30 calendar day period, any student without proof of
immunization will be excluded from school until they can obtain and provide a certificate of
immunization.
By offering an immunization clinic now and during school hours, we can save you a trip to your
primary care physician and lessen issues you may experience later with low vaccine availability
that occurs from time to time. Please reach out to your school nurse with any questions that you
may have regarding the clinic.
